Caregiving Classes and Events
Taking Care of You? Powerful Tools for Caregiving is an educational program designed to provide family caregivers with skills to help them take good care of themselves. Participants will learn how to:

Reduce personal stress

Improve self-confidence
-
Balance commitments
-
Make tough decisions
-
Communicate needs to family members and service providers
-
Communicate effectively in challenging situations
-
Deal with difficult feelings such as guilt, anger and frustration
-
Learn what is available in the community
-
Set goals and solve problems
This 6-week series is 2 ½ hours in length each week and the fee for all six classes is $20, which includes The Caregiver Helpbook. Attendance in all six classes is encouraged and class size is limited to 12-15 people. Funding for respite care may be available. Please indicate your need for respite care services at the time you make your reservation.

Annual Caregiver Town Hall Meeting and Resource Fair Monday, November 14, 2011 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Peace Lutheran Church 501 E. Fillmore Avenue Eau Claire, WI 54701 No Cost Catered Dinner by Yankee Jack's The Annual Caregiver Town Hall Meeting is for individuals who are providing care to an older adult (spouse, adult child, neighbor, friend, other family member, professional). The event is sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Family Caregiving Alliance and consists of a dinner at no cost, roundtable discussions, question and answer forum with a panel presentation, door prizes and resources/exhibitors. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of local caregiving issues and resources and provide opportunities to share ideas and concerns.
