Senior Dining Program and Locations
Senior Dining is available at congregate dining centers in Eau Claire and Augusta and are funded through the federal Older Americans Act and state grants and by participant donations. These programs ensure that older people have access to at least one nutritious meal five to seven days a week. The meal must comply with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and provide at least one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances for an older person.
More than just a meal...Senior Dining not only offers a tasty hot meal at lunchtime, but it also gives older people an opportunity to socialize with others, make new friends and if desired, volunteer. Diners are given the opportunity to participate in nutrition risk screening, nutrition education and counseling Dining with others can improve appetite and overall nutritional health.
Cost: Total cost of the meals is $8.81. Suggested donation is $3.50. SNAP/Quest cards are accepted. All contributions are confidential and voluntary. No one will be denied a meal based on their donation.
