HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT: |
The Register of Deeds office originated with the creation of Eau Claire County. The position of Register of Deeds is constitutionally mandated with elections held every two years. |

MISSION STATEMENT/
DEPARTMENTAL PURPOSE: |
The Register of Deeds office records all land transactions with the County of Eau Claire. Vital records such as birth, marriages, and deaths are filed with this office. |

Register of Deeds: Elected official.
Staff: High school graduation or equivalent with experience in a legal or real estate office setting. |
