| Treatment courts are built on a unique collaboration between the crimnal justice system and the treatment community. A dedicated treatment team of court officers and staff work together toward a common goal of addressing drug abuse, and the untreated symptoms of serious mental illness that prompt criminal behavior. |

Community Partnerships "Western Wisconsin Recovery Advocates" (WWRA)

The treatment courts have been involved with the WWRA recovery event since it's inception in 2007. Marsh Schiszik AIM (Court Coordinator) blogg's on he WWRA website on a regular basis), addressing the family component of recovery. The WWRA has continued to bring awareness about the treatment courts to the community and the WWRA's dedication to help empower those in Recovery and their families to "become their own voice" benefits everyone in the Chippewa Valley. Thuy Smith, (president and founder of the WWRA) is a member of the Treatment Court Advisory Committee and also member of the Veteran's Court Team.
