June 10, 2009: Below are two images of the conceptual drawing of the revised County Building project that has been submitted to the City Council for approval. This drawing is based on Concept 21 which was approved by the Special Committee to Resolve Jail Space and Site Needs and the County Board. Note that the design teams and Committees still have to go through a re-design process so the building may change. We still have to add fences, shrubs, landscaping etc. However, the drawing does show that it's an attractive, professionally designed building that fits nicely within the on-campus location. The re-routed 2nd Avenue provides a safer intersection to Lake Street. And, the cost of the entire project, including construction of the joint law enforcement center, remains to be within the $59.1 million that has been designated.

April 21, 2009: County Board of Supervisors approves Resolution 09-10/008 to:
- Adopt On-Campus Design Concept 21 to guide new construction (this is the design recommended by the Special Committee to Resolve Jail Space and Site Needs).
- Direct staff to prepare a rezoning petition and site plan consistent with On-Campus Design Concept 21, including redesign of affected streets, and submit to the City of Eau Claire for its consideration and approval.
- Reaffirm its earlier policy decision that total building costs should not exceed $59.1 million.
