Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP)
What is WHEAP?
The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) provides eligible low income households with assistance for their home heating and energy costs. This program can offer a one time per heating season (October 1 - May 15) benefit to help with fuel and electric expenses and is generally paid directly to the fuel or electric supplier.
How Do I Apply?
Due to Courthouse construction and the temporary change in hours, walk-in applications will be taken Monday - Thursday at DHS in the Eau Claire County Courthouse during the following hours:
October 1 - November 30: 7:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00p.m. December 1 - May 15: 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Fridays by appointment only.
