Recyclable

All colored container glass bottles and jars are accepted (i.e. jelly, spaghetti sauce, beer, and wine bottles).  Rinse all containers; labels do not need to be removed.

Please do not place broken glass in the recycling bin, as it can be a hazard for the sanitation workers. This should be placed in the trash. 

Not Recyclable

These items have chemical compositions that make them incompatible for recycling with container glass:

• windows
• ceramics
• cookware
• light bulbs
• drinking glasses
• mirrors
• eye glasses

Recycled glass bottles are often made into new containers. While that is still the usual practice, glass can also be used as an aggregate in road construction and drainage projects, for making sandblast materials, and as a feedstock for fiberglass.
