Taking Down the Holiday Lights
With overwhelming success, the “Recycle Your Holidays” Christmas lights program will be coming to an end on January 27th. Be sure to bring lights to the Eau Claire County Courthouse before the 27th to ensure they are recycled. The Recycling Association of Minnesota, who is the administrator of this program, hopes to be doing their final light pick-up the last week of January and they have many stops to accommodate along the way.
Eau Claire County Recycling anticipates running this program again next year, as “there have been so many residents bringing in their lights, I can’t imagine all of these now going in the trash without a program like Recycle Your Holidays” confesses Anna McCabe, Eau Claire County Recycling Coordinator. For last minute drop-offs, please bring your lights to the Eau Claire County Courthouse located on 721 Oxford Ave, Eau Claire. Along with broken strands of lights, electrical cords, telephone cords and appliance cords can be brought and deposited in the labeled “Recycle Your Holidays” bins in the lobby of the Courthouse from 8am to 5pm until the 27th of January.
