How & Where to Recycle Specific Materials
Glass
Rinse and remove all caps of glass bottles and jars.
If you are using a county drop-box, glass must be sorted by color. Blue tinted bottles are combined with green.
The following kinds of glass or glasslike products are NOT RECYCLABLE because they have chemical compositions that make them incompatible for recycling with container glass:
-window
-ceramics
-cookware
-light bulbs
-drinking glass
-mirrors
-eye glasses
Recycled glass bottles are often made into new containers. While that is still the usual practice, glass can also be used as an aggregate in road construction and drainage projects, for making sandblast materials, and as a feedstock for fiberglass.
