How & Where to Recycle Specific Materials
Pallets
Both the purchase and disposal of pallets can be very expensive for companies that use large quantities. In Wisconsin, over 150,000 tons are landfilled each year. UW-Extension has published a booklet entitled Pallets: Management and Markets that is available through the Chamber of Commerce [834-1204] or the Industrial Development Corporation [834-0070].
To date, Menards (715-876-2151) is the only local business accepting pallets for grinding. Prices run from $1 per pallet, but may be negotiated for large quantities.
