Welcome to the Eau Claire County Recycling Program website. This website was developed to provide citizens of Eau Claire County with the information you need to help you with recycling. You can also get information on recycling by calling the Recycling Automated Answer Line at 839-6159 (or 1-800-322-8919). The following is a more detailed description of the information that you can access by clicking on the items in the menu to the left:
- Recycle Your Holidays: Christmas Lights recycling program ends for the season Jan. 27, 2012
- Drop-Off Locations and Hours: Public and Private - The locations, days and hours of operation of Eau Claire County recycling drop-off stations. Also, find out where you can drop off recyclables from your household at private businesses working with the county recycling program.
- Curbside Recycling - Information on curbside recycling service and where it is available.
- How & Where to Recycle Specific Materials - How and where to recycle a wide variety of things including aluminum cans, electronic devices, clothing, appliances, fluorescent light bulbs, and a wide variety of other items.

Program Changes And New Announcements
Periodically, changes are made to the recycling program and they will be noted here. Program changes can occur because of new recycling laws, new disposal bans, and the marketability of recyclable items. Check this section periodically to keep up-to-date on program changes that have occurred.

"Annual" Computer and Appliance Collection Event Cancelled - First Choice Computer Recycling and Eau Claire County worked together in past years to run an event in September where residents of the county could drop off old computers, other electronic devices, and appliances. The county has discontinued this event, effective in 2011, because residents can recycle computers, other electronic devices, and appliance 6 days a week throughout the calendar year at First Choice Computer Recycling, including 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. Appliances and some electronic devices can also be recycled at various scrap dealers in the county; look them up under "Scrap Dealers" in the yellow pages of the telephone book.
- Appliance & Electronic Recycling Option By Appointment Only - An Eau Claire business will accept selected appliances and electronic devices by appointment only, and if your item meets the businesses specifications there will be no fee for recycling it. Items that they will accept: appliances including clean stoves, refrigerators, freezers, microwave ovens, clothes washers and dryers that are in one piece; selected electronic devices including computer CPU's and printers, keyboards, laptops, stereos, radios, and vacuum cleaners. Computer monitors and televisions are not accepted. The owner has indicated that they are licensed to provide these services. They reserve the right to reject items, and the items accepted may change from time to time. Call 832-4248 for an appointment.
