The Nutrition Program offers a variety of services, including Meals on Wheels, Senior Dining, Liquid Supplements. This program promotes nutritional well being allowing seniors to stay happy, healthy and independent longer. Programs are funded under the federal Older Americans Act and are designed to provide meals and supportive services to people 60 years of age and older and their spouses.

Meals on Wheels - What you need to know
- Meals are delivered throughout all of Eau Claire County.
- Most of the meals are delivered by volunteers.
- The menu is available in the monthly newsletter and online.
- All meals are reduced in fat and have no added salt.
- Each meal contains 1/3 of the recommended daily allowance of food per day for the older adult for calcium, vitamin A, vitamin C, protein, fat and carbohydrate.
- Hot meals are available Monday through Friday at lunch time. A cold meal is available to those who need help with weekend and holiday meals.
- This program provides a friendly daily check to ensure safety.
|More than just a meal... The meals on wheels program also provides a daily check on individuals. If there is concern when delivering meals, a designated contact person will be contacted for follow-up. A home visit is required prior to starting meals to determine eligibility and to assist with referrals to other services, if needed.|
Cost: Total cost of each meal is $8.80. Suggested donation is $3.75. All contributions are confidential and voluntary. SNAP/Quest cards are accepted as payment or donation. No one over 60 years of age who qualifies for the meal program will be denied a meal based on inability to donate toward the cost of them. Those who do not meet the eligibility of meals on wheels may receive meals through a prepay program. - Senior Dining
Senior Dining Congregate meals ensure that older adults have access to at least one nutritious meal five to seven days a week. The meal must comply with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and provide at least one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances for an older adult.
More than just a meal...Senior Dining not only offers a tasty hot meal at lunchtime, but it also give older adults an opportunity to socialize with others, make new friends, change of scenery and if desired, volunteer. Dining with others can improve appetite and overall nutritional health.

- Liquid Supplement
Nutritional supplements are available to individuals who may have a poor appetite, are recovering from surgery, need to gain weight or simply are not able to eat a diet adequate in nutrition. The Aging and Disability Resource Center has cases of Ensure Plus available at the office, 721 Oxford Ave. Room 1130.
