Resource Information for the Vehicle Registration Fee
*NEW* January 2019
FAQ - You received your vehicle registration fee card but you no longer live in Eau Claire County.
When a person registers a car on the DMV form they state where the vehicle will be kept. If you registered a vehicle but then moved from that address, if nothing was corrected with the DMV at the time of your move the registration form will still state the last known county in which the vehicle is kept.
Go to the WisconsinDMV.Gov website and in the search bar type in “Vehicle kept”,
You will then need to DL #, last four digits of SS and their birth date then they will be able to put in the correct county in which the vehicle is kept.
Then, go into the option to renew license and the correct price should come up.
The DMV does not send out new registration bills so they will need to do the renewal online for the correct fee to come up once they have corrected their county.
